Let's talk about one of the most famous free legitimate online business, we are going to talk about Affiliate Marketing.

About 10 years ago we've seen first affiliate marketing opportunity in the internet world. Then Amazon.com started to sell books via this method of distribution.

There are three main part in Affiliate marketing :

1. product owner
2. the affiliate marketing company
3. we as affiliate marketer

In this process, the product owner, for example a programmer, sign a contract with the affiliate marketing company to sell his/her program via its affiliate network. Affiliates are someone like you and me who wants to earn money from selling someone else products. In this case affiliate marketer going to make money via selling a computer program. when someone going to make money from an affiliate marketing opportunity, firstly he/she has to join the affiliate program. Then the program assign a code to the applicant which introduce he/she in the affiliate network. When somebody purchase something from the affiliate marketing company's website from the applicant URL which customized bye his/her code, system calculate the commissionable volume of the product and add it to the affiliate marketer's account. 

Depend on the affiliate marketing company's plan, we have 2 different kinds of compensation plans in affiliate marketing :

1. Single level
2. Multi level

In a single level compensation plan, company will allow the affiliate marketer to enroll others as affiliate marketers in his/her first level and pay a portion of each sale generated by these first level affiliate marketers to their upline. (in this case maybe you!). your first level distributors can enroll others like you but you won't receive commission on your first level's first level distributors.

In a multi level compensation plan, you can receive commission from sales were generated from your first level's first level distributors and so on.

For example: you enroll me and I enroll John. in a single level plan, you don't receive commission on John's retail sales and your only commission come from my own retail sales. But in a multi level compensation plan, you receive commission from John's sales in addition to mine. 

As you see in the above example, we have a high potential business opportunity in front of ourselves. And the best part is that we can start such a business without any capital. In comparison to a franchise opportunity, at least we can save about 10000 dollars in start up costs!!! Isn't it great? having a business with an income potential like a franchise opportunity but without any start up costs? "when you going to join any affiliate marketing program, you have to notice the following red flags"

The most important thing about an affiliate program is its products and/or services which can be promoted by the affiliate marketers.
when joining an affiliate program be careful to observe its products and/or services and make sure there is something which buy it from the internet is cost effective. for example when a program provide its promoters and customers something like a refrigerator and another one offer something like books and Ebooks, the second program is better than first. because there is a high shipping cost for a refrigerator and buying it from the internet is not cost effective so you and me as affiliate marketers cannot sell it and make profit. so, don't forget to check the affiliate's products and/or services.

Now we have some products and/or services to distribute and promote via the internet. The next step is to scrutiny commission value of our selected products and services. sometimes we select something that its promotion costs is more than its profit!!! Be careful about your selection.

What kind of income would you like to earn? linear income (which comes from your own effort and because you have a specific amount of working time, this kind of income is restricted to a regular amount.) or residual income (in addition to your effort you can make profit from the efforts of who you personally support in the affiliate's pay plan.)? If you ask me such a question, my answer will be: residual income. because with this kind of income we can make money when we're not working. when we're going to sleep our money making machine is keep going and make us money... . but we can expect such residual income only when we have an organization and in a multi level affiliate marketing pay plan, we hav an organization. But when we talk about an organization we need the science to build that organization. make sure that the affiliate company has proper education and training system to educate and train you build an organization and gain residual income.
